I picked this dude up in a Pawn shop up past Washington Heights – the Canada of Manhattan – and pretty much my favorite guitar.
This is an unknown model from probably ’67 or ’68 Japanese made copy of a Gibson 335. Possibly made by Teisco or Guyatone. Some of their cheaper sold-bodies weren’t great but there high-end hollowbody models were real beauties – just like this one.
Kicking sounding gold-foil humbuckers with loads of grunt and add the bridge pickup for honk and cut. Really cool sounding guitar. Notable players: Pete Townsend smashed one in New York in ’68.
